The Rüsselsheim City Center is located between the river bank of the Main and the important railway line Mainz-Frankfurt. The Southwest border is established by the Opel factory. In the adjoining neighbourhood, there are several well established residential areas. Numerous small and large offices, shops and restaurants as well as the city town hall provide jobs for the large number of people working in the heart of Rüsselsheim. South of the pedestrian zone, the central station grants access to national regional trains; the central bus terminal to local and suburban bus systems.
Parking is easy in Rüsselsheim: In the streets and in central car parks, 1200 parking places can be found in the city alone. The retailers offer a large variety of goods. The pedestrian zone has the highest number of shoppers and retail businesses.
Retailers, gastronomes and the initiative Treffpunkt Innenstadt attract visitors with smaller and major events.
The large variety of restaurants and the Verna-Park - dating back to the post-romantic period - are ideal locations for recreation, for lunch breaks and relaxation after work or shopping.
